What is Enterprise?

Welcome studentpreneurs, freelancers and social-enterprisers!

Here at Kingston University Enterprise, we’re on a mission to maintain our title as the top UK university for graduate start-ups! And that means helping students like you to turn bright ideas into a reality… we like to think that we can make your business dreams come true!

How? We’re glad you asked! We provide extra-curricular events, competitions, and heaps of resources, for budding student and graduate entrepreneurs. If you fancy becoming the next Alan Sugar or JK Rowling, we can help!

Can I take part?

All Kingston University students and recent alumni are welcome to join in with Enterprise! Whether you want to start a business, freelance career or social enterprise, or are just curious about entrepreneurship, we’ve got something on offer! You will learn vital skills that will help you to develop and promote yourself and/or your business idea – all of which are crucial in future employment.

LISTEN UP! Enterprise is not limited to business students. Anyone with an idea for a product, service, social enterprise, or project is welcome – and we’re keen to work with freelancers… journalists, authors, artists, and designers – that means you!

What’s on offer?

  • Events – You can attend our weekly workshops and Insights events to learn from business experts, network with distinguished entrepreneurs and meet with fellow forward-thinkers. We also run business bootcamps that offer one-day simulations of the entrepreneurship process. All events are completely FREE – download our calendar here!
  • Competitions – We also run an annual competition called Bright Ideas, which gives you the opportunity to develop and showcase your idea with extensive support during our workshops and from our mentors! You’ll be able to pitch to some of the most successful entrepreneurs in the UK, and you could win up to £1000!
  • Support – Finally, we offer a bundle of supportive resources – from mentoring with our entrepreneurs in residence, to incubation space, and even up to £20,000 in funding!

Have a browse through the website to see what’s on offer, but if you can’t find what you’re looking for then just drop us an email at entrepreneurship@kingston.ac.uk or tweet us @BizBoardKU and we’ll be in touch!

How do I sign up?

First, sign up to our mailing-list too and make sure you’re the first to know about our events, competitions and other opportunities. Next, come along to our events and gather stamps in our Passport to Enterprise as a record of your activity and to be awarded the Enterprise! Certificate of Achievement at the end of the year. It all counts toward the Kingston Award – perfect!
